Our Mission

Our mission is to make game and simulation development easier and more efficient, to reduce the cost of creating games, to encourage innovation, and to make games and simulation development accessible to a wider community of creative individuals. Federation Grid will provide a scalable, flexible, grid-computing framework for developing and hosting interactive environments.

We envision a global creative community sharing skills, resources and assets to quickly create quality interactive environments.

To work towards our vision we have identified the following goals:

  • To build a community of researchers and developers who will design standards for creating games and simulations. The standards separate the games and simulations into domains of concern, creating domain specific languages that can be easily read and used.
  • To develop a collaborative game and simulation development environment made up of visual tools for programming, design, documentation, and project management. The environment will create standards-compliant code, making it easy to follow standards even without a programming background.
  • To create an On Demand platform for hosting online games and simulations, that can handle everything from small-scale applications to massively-multiplayer online applications. The platform will be an interoperable grid made up of geographically remote clusters linked via high speed connections.
  • To establish a repository of resources and a web of support that will help people find everything they need to build their interactive environment. To create a community where people can give and receive help, get feedback, and share their ideas and creations with others.
